osu! No Mod PP Calculator

No Mod (NM) is the baseline of osu! performance — pure skill, no modifiers applied, no multipliers. While mods like Hidden or Double Time add PP bonuses, No Mod PP is often more valuable than it appears, because a high-accuracy FC on a difficult NM map can outperform a modded play with worse accuracy on an easier map.

Why No Mod PP Is More Important Than You Think

New and intermediate players often assume that playing with mods is always better for PP. This is a misconception. A 99.5% full combo on a 7★ No Mod map can give more PP than a 93% FC on the same map with Hidden or Double Time, because the accuracy PP component scales extremely steeply at high accuracy values.

The PP formula weights accuracy exponentially. Going from 95% to 99% accuracy is not a 4% improvement in PP — it can be a 30–50% improvement in your accuracy PP component, depending on the map. This is why No Mod high-accuracy plays remain competitive with modded plays for many player levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does No Mod count for PP ranking the same way modded plays do?
Yes, completely. Your total PP is calculated from your best 100 plays weighted by position, regardless of whether each play used mods or not. A 400pp NM score counts exactly the same as a 400pp HDDT score toward your total.
Should I always try to play with at least HD?
Not necessarily. If HD drops your accuracy by more than 2–3% and your combo consistency suffers, you will earn less PP with HD than without it on many maps. Only add mods when you can sustain close to your NM-level accuracy.
What star rating should I aim for No Mod to reach specific ranks?
For top 100,000: 5–6★ NM FCs with 96%+ accuracy. For top 10,000: consistent 7–8★ NM play. For top 1,000: 8–9★ NM FCs with high accuracy or equivalent modded plays. These are rough benchmarks — the exact requirements shift as the player pool grows.
